This Privacy Policy explains how TipWell (“TipWell,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our websites, payment-enabled tipping pages, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

• Contact and account information, such as name, email address, telephone number, business or display name, and profile information.
• Transaction information, such as tip amount, recipient, date, status, and an optional note. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor and are not stored directly by TipWell.
• Communications information, including mobile telephone numbers, SMS delivery and opt-out records, customer-service communications, and notification preferences.
• Technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, and activity logs used to secure and operate the Services.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and operate the Services, process and document transactions, deliver requested notifications, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent fraud and misuse, comply with law, and improve the reliability and usability of TipWell.

3. SMS and mobile information

We may share mobile information with service providers that help us deliver text messages, provide customer support, prevent fraud, or operate the Services. Those providers may use the information only to perform services for TipWell. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We may disclose information to payment processors, cloud hosting providers, messaging providers, analytics and security vendors, and professional advisers when reasonably necessary to provide or protect the Services. We may also disclose information at a user’s direction, to comply with legal obligations, or to protect TipWell, our users, or others.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against fraud or misuse. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
